Colton- Mrs. Pauline E. Snyder, 84, peacefully passed away on Sunday September 24, 2017 at the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena with her family at her side. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Pauline was born in Parishville on August 30, 1933 to the late Verrick and Laura (Bullock) Derosia. She was raised and educated locally, attending Colton High School. On September 16, 1949 Pauline was married to Carl W. Snyder. They shared a mutual respect and a blessed union of 56 years. Carl passed away on December 17, 2005. Taking on daily tasks with grace, Pauline was homemaker who provided love, care, and gentle guidance; more importantly was always present to her children and family. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, joy rides and sightseeing with Carl, and had a love for animals. Pauline wore a sweet smile, was never one to fuss, and could make any bad day good. Pauline is survived by her children: Nancy and Claude Hartson of Winthrop, and Dan and Diane Snyder of Hannawa Falls; 5 grandchildren: Claude Hartson Jr. and his fiancé Jessica, Malcolm Hartson, Ruth Hartson, Amy (Gary) Duel, Kathy (Roy) Porter; 7 great-grandchildren: Chase Hartson, Daniel and Kaelin Porter, Owen, Mason and Erin Hogle, and Evan Duel; nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Derosia; her sister, Lucy Woodard, and a daughter in infancy, Amy Snyder. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Pauline's Funeral Service will be Thursday at 10:00 am at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, located on the Russel Turnpike Road, in the Town of Parishville.
