Peter A. Fefee

Brushton – Peter A. Fefee, 76, passed away Monday April 9, 2018 at Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home.

Peter was born on October 23, 1941 in Dickinson, son of the late Seward J. and Rebecca M. (Henault) Fefee.  He married the love of his life, Edith “Dovey” Pelkey on August 26, 1961 at St. Mary’s Church in Brushton.  They shared 56 years of love, sacrifice, hard work, honesty and integrity.

For many years, he operated a dairy farm with his brother until he had to retire for health reasons. He was recipient of various awards from Franklin County for his wisdom and talent in farming and was a member of the Franklin County Co-operative Extension and soil and water.

He was a jack of all trades and kept himself occupied by doing many projects for his family.   He was the President of Sand Hill Cemetery for many years, taking great pride and responsibility in his position.  Peter practiced his Catholic faith as a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Brushton and was a member of Knights of Columbus #7321 in St. Regis Falls.

Peter performed every aspect of his life with humble and abiding responsibility.  His greatest roles were being a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He looked forward to family events and was a loving and supportive presence in their lives.

Peter is survived by his wife, Edith “Dovey”, their children; Tammy Ann and Kevin Leahy of Dickinson and Peter Jr. and Bonny Fefee of Moira, his siblings; Marie and Edward Dorey of Moira, Harry and Rita Fefee of Brushton, Janet and Charles Quattrocchi of Dover Plains, and Terry and Bonita Fefee of Brushton; two sisters in law, Gail Fefee of Malone and Nancy Fefee of Moira; six grandchildren, Thomas Leahy, Mark Leahy, Donna (Michael) Hardin, Emma (Tyler) Parent, Norene (Cary) Marshall and Pamela Roger) Rousell, six great grandchildren, Olivia, Ian and Elliott Hardin and Ethan, Madisyn and Anna Parent. He was predeceased by his brothers, Anthony and Gary.

Peter’s family honored and commemorated his life at a private time.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Peter’s Graveside Service at Sand Hill Cemetery on Wednesday April 18th at 11:00 am.
