Barbara R. Hull

Ft. Jackson- Barbara R. Hull, 92, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital with her son and daughter at her side.  Arrangements are entrusted with the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.

Barbara was born July 2, 1925, in Potsdam, daughter of the late Joseph S. and Minnie (Newtown) Siltz. She graduated from Parishville Hopkinton School and on June 29, 1944 she married Chester L. Hull in St. Regis Falls with Rev. Dolling officiating.  They shared a loving relationship for over 58 years until Mr. Hull’s passing on April 13, 2002.

She worked at Potsdam State College as a Cook for many years.  She was an excellent cook who was devoted to her family and concerned about their wellbeing.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who was respected as the family matriarch.

She is survived by three children; Darwin Hull of Potsdam, Jerry Hull of Birmingham, AL and Nancy and Richard Eakins of Hopkinton; one sister-in-law, Margaret Siltz of Maine; six grandchildren, Robert, Jimmy, Bryan, Melissa, Karyn and Jessica; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, one son, Gordon Hull (2/10/2013) and her siblings, Gerald Siltz, Evelyn Baldwin, Joseph Siltz and Gloria Sexton.

Following her wishes, her funeral services will be private for her family.  She will be buried next to her husband, Chester, in Hopkinton-Ft. Jackson Cemetery.
