Beverly L. Arquette

Beverly L. Arquette, 79, of Hopkinton passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at her home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on November 5, 1930 in St. Regis Falls, daughter of the late Frederick G. and Ruby E. (Wells) LaChance. Beverly graduated from Massena High School in 1948 and went to work at ALCOA in the office and mailroom. On Sept. 22, 1951, she married Lawrence H. Arquette at Sacred Heart Church in Massena. Together they shared their life and love until his passing on October 6, 1984. Mrs. Arquette was a dedicated wife and mother, who loved to bake and was known for her fruit cake and homemade wine. Her spirituality was renewed daily and she never wavered in her devotion to her Catholic faith. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Church, a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. At one time, she was a member of the Hopkinton-Ft. Jackson Fire Dept. Auxiliary. Beverly is survived by four children; Deborah Taillon and her husband, Thomas of Colton, Steven Arquette and his wife, Kathryn of Parishville, Laura Lee Toomey and her husband, Kevin of Winthrop and Julia M. Arquette of Hopkinton. Always close to her heart was the memory of her daughter, Susan E. McAllister who passed away on June 3, 1985. She also leaves one sister, Phyllis LaChance of Massena and one brother, Charles LaChance of Massena; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. One sister, Beulah Rivers, predeceased her. Friends may call at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop, Monday from 6 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at Holy Cross Church in Hopkinton, at 11 am. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.
