In keeping with his families wishes, there will be no public calling hours. Rod’s graveside memorial service with full military honors will be held on Saturday, July 20 at 10:00am at Visitation Cemetery in Norfolk.

Roderick, “Rod” was born in Brushton to the late John Martin and Laura Boardway on June 18, 1923. He attended Norwood-Norfolk High school and graduated in the class of 1941. Roderick married Harriet “Lorraine” Clark on January 31, 1942. Shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Navy serving his country during World War II. After his departure from the military, he returned to the North country and was employed by Alcoa where he worked as a millwright and as an IG welder for more than 40 years. After 66 years of marriage, Lorraine passed away on April 16, 2008.

Roderick and Lorraine moved to Arizona and found their passion for traveling. His pride and joy was being a full time RVer, traveling across the country at least 25 times but always making it home each summer. Rod enjoyed his Kubota tractor and paid attention to detail when it came to his automobiles. Amongst many accomplishments, he was especially proud to assist in building of the Norwood American Legion and he was a member of the Alcoa 25-year club.

Later in life he met and found companionship with Laura LaComb, enjoying each other’s company for the past eight and a half years.

Rod is survived by his daughter Sharon (Reginald) Cousineau of Brasher Falls; his grandchildren: Maria Corse and her husband Mike of Pierrepont, Melanie Bartlett and her husband Phil of Hopkinton, MA, Shawn Cousineau of Winchendon, MA, Pete Cousineau of Whiting, VT; his great-grandchildren: Ian Corse, Mackenzie Corse, Abby Bartlett, and Luke Bartlett; along with his partner Laura LaComb and her children: Larry and Martha LaComb, Michael and Natalie LaComb, Nathan and Michelle LaComb, Roxanne LaComb, MaryLou LaComb-Davis, Dianna LaComb and Sheldon Arpad.
